This is an excerpt from a media project I’m making about my family’s experiences of living in Saudi Arabia. It is a work in progress. 

This excerpt is a conversation between me and my parents about being in Saudi Arabia through the Gulf War in 1991. 

The first video channel shows home video footage that my family shot at the time. All the footage is recorded on Hi8 tapes.

The second video channel consists of archival footage, news reports, and depictions of the war in popular culture like films and video games.

The audio is of my father, mother and me discussing incidents they remember from the war.
